Grubby Little Tea Light Tutorial

This is how I made my tea lights. It's very easy and cheap. ( Please excuse my work space...I know it's a mess!)  The important thing is that you can see that I have my Diet Coke with me!

Step one: head to your nearest Dollar Tree or similar store and grab a bunch of tea lights. I found 3 packs at our DT for a buck. I grabbed a few packs but didn't go crazy. I picked up my spices there too.

Step two: grab some Mod Podge and spices (I used Nutmeg).
I mixed a thick consistency and coated the candles.

Step three: ust with spice. I used Allspice (cuz I love how it smells). After they dried, I shook off the extra.

Now, just let them dry.  You can spray them with a clear sealant if you choose, but I like the way they turned out.  I wasn't patient enough (dry time too long!) to make a few with the mod podge/spice mix by its self.

I'll bag these babies up when they're all done and add them to my 'sell' box for the show.

Work, work, work and yet some of it's play!

I've had my nose to the craft-stone if you will...trying to get some items made and others finished. I'm shooting for a small sense of acconnmplishment.

I have enjoyed creeping around the blog Eyeballs By Day, Crafts By Night. She has so many cute crafting ideas that are quick, inexpensive and easy!  I will add projects as I go......

I finally finished my "Bo Scarecrow" Prims. I find my favorite prim patterns at Chestnut Junction Primitives. Love that place!  Instant e-pattern downloads to appease my instant gratification.  (And when I'm a craftin', I like me some instant gratification at 2am when I randomly decide to start on my next project!)  They are all boxed up and ready to sell! I just actually hope they sell!

a gaggle of "Bo's"  I tend to make items in quantity of a bakers' dozen....12 to sell, (they're not all pictured) one for me...and on occasion one for my bestie Jules!

Thrift Store Mother Load!

So, I'm trying to prepare for my upcoming craft show on 11/17...
After looking on Pinterest and blogs I found via Pinterest links for inspiration, I hit the thrift stores. I was pleased with what I found! I have many ideas in mind for my fun little finds!! Can't wait to get crackin' on them. Most will be used for displaying items that I'll be making but might save a few for home use too!
Last fall, I was looking around a fun vintage shop and found a old birdcage that had a crow placed inside, used for a Halloween decor item.  Sooo...when I saw that handy dandy cage....I had to have it!  I grabbed the old 80's metal file for my patterns.  Couldn't pass that up!  That's the plan Stan!

Part 1 of "Random Bag of Stamps" for 4.99!!!

Part 2 of "Random Bag of Stamps"

My bestie Jules and I can use these brackets to make a shelf!  I thought I could use the wood vase to hold my paintbrushes for awhile until I find something else to do with it....

Big basket and crate to display stuff in!

Candles to grubby, a nice vintage wooden tray to paint, candle warmer for my crafting area aromatherapy (ahhh...I can smell it now!)
I've seen floral arrangements placed in vintage cannisters like these...

Planning on putting a xmas tree in this croc with a piece of homespun tied around the neck....(this croc fell out the back of our Expedition onto our driveway.  It bounced twice and rolled into the street.  Not even a chip!  Once tough croc!)
Planning on painting the center of this silver tray with chalkboard paint.

Tin tub and a box full of xmas tree balls for making wreaths
Who wouldn't want this as a nice white elephant gift?  I couldn't pass it up!  It screamed 'Christmas work party' at me as I walked by.

I think this black pyrex  crock is my favorite.  I have a orange/brown tree for halloween that I plan on using this baby for!  Can't pass up older cookie cutters.  Bonus!

Another pot for small xmas tree display.  Gonna spray the yellow wall pocket a new color.

Found some big ole candy canes to cover with fabric for the show!

Whew!  That about covers it!  Now, I've gotta get my butt busy!
